Inman ProWash LLC on a job in Winchester, KY

Winchester is the county seat of Clark County and sits at the eastern edge of the Bluegrass region, where Central Kentucky farmland meets the foothills of Appalachia. The city is the birthplace of Ale-8-One soda, home of historic Strode Station, and a regular through-point on the drive out to the Red River Gorge. Clark County has some of the most iron-rich red-clay soil in Central Kentucky - which is why driveways and sidewalks here develop the stubborn orange staining that cold-water pressure washing won't touch. We work in Clark County regularly.

The red clay in Clark County is some of the most iron-rich in the region. The soil along Boonesboro Road, Irvine Road, and the rural properties south of town deposits iron oxide on every hard surface it touches. After a heavy rain, driveways that were clean the day before have orange streaks running from the yard onto the concrete. Our process uses oxalic acid treatments combined with hot water to dissolve the iron bond and flush it from the concrete.

The residential neighborhoods in Winchester around Colonnade, Indian Fields, and the areas near the bypass have the standard mold and algae issues that come with Central Kentucky humidity. We soft wash siding and roofs and pressure wash concrete throughout the city.

We also serve the commercial properties along Bypass Road and in downtown Winchester. Storefronts, restaurants, and offices all benefit from regular exterior cleaning. Call 859-312-0704 for a free estimate on any Winchester or Clark County property.

Why Winchester homes get dirty fast

The four things working against your exterior.

Clark County sits at the edge of the Bluegrass where it starts climbing up toward the mountains. The conditions are a little different here than Lexington. Here is what we deal with on every Winchester job.

01

Mountain Parkway gateway

Winchester is the last flat town before the Mountain Parkway climbs east. Wind off the higher country pushes dust and pollen across town all spring. Cars get dirty fast and so does siding.

02

Older housing stock

A lot of Winchester homes are from the 1940s through 1970s. Brick, painted wood, vinyl over original siding. Each one needs a different approach because the underlying material is not always what you see.

03

Bluegrass humidity

Same humid summers as the rest of central Kentucky. Dew points sit in the 60s and 70s for months. North-facing walls and shaded corners never fully dry. Mildew loves it.

04

Manufacturing area dust

The factories along the industrial corridor and the limestone quarries on the east side throw fine dust into the air on dry days. It settles on white siding and concrete faster than anywhere else in town.

A College Park story

A small house that came back to white.

A few years back, an older customer in the College Park neighborhood called us about her house. The painted wood siding had been there since she and her late husband bought the place in the 1960s. The years had turned it from white to gray and she had given up on ever seeing it clean again.

We spent the morning soft washing the whole exterior at low pressure. She came out at lunchtime and just stood there. Said she had not seen the house look like that since her wedding pictures were taken in front of it. That is the kind of moment that keeps us in this work.

While we're in town

A few Winchester spots we keep coming back to.

Between jobs, before sunset, on the weekend - here is where you will catch us when we are not on a ladder in Clark County.

Historic brick

Downtown Winchester storefronts

Older brick and painted wood on the downtown corridor need low-pressure cleaning and controlled detergent dwell. High pressure strips mortar and damages painted surfaces. We work these fronts carefully and rinse so detergent doesn't drift onto adjacent storefronts.

Soft wash only

Maple Street painted wood homes

Older painted wood siding needs the lowest pressure setting and a slow rinse. We soft wash these homes and watch the detergent closely so it doesn't drift onto landscaping or window trim.

HOA contract

Becknerville Road newer subdivisions

Newer vinyl and Hardie board homes east of town pick up clay splash and organic canopy staining fast. We run HOA programs out here with bulk pricing on 10-plus-home jobs and keep scheduling flexible around HOA review periods.

Mid-century brick

Goff Avenue brick homes

Mid-century brick on Goff Avenue carries north-side mortar mildew and clay-splash staining on lower courses. We dwell detergent on the mortar joints and never hit aged brick with raw pressure.

Winchester Common Questions

What Winchester customers ask most.

How much does pressure washing cost in Winchester, KY?+
Most residential jobs in Winchester run $150 to $500 depending on the size of your home and the services needed. Single-story house washes run $399 to $599. Two-story homes go $599 to $850. We quote the exact number before any work starts.
How often should I have my Winchester home pressure washed?+
Every one to two years for most homes. Homes near the industrial corridor or out toward Boonesboro Road pick up dust and mildew faster. Hilltop and well-ventilated homes can usually go two years.
Do you work on older homes in College Park and Maple Street?+
Yes. A lot of Winchester homes have older brick or painted wood that needs a softer touch. We adjust the pressure and detergent for whatever your siding actually is, not just what it looks like.
Do you serve all of Clark County?+
Yes. Winchester city limits, Trapp, Athens, the country roads heading toward Boonesborough. If you are in the county we can get to you.
Can you handle commercial buildings downtown?+
Yes. We clean storefronts, sidewalks, awnings, and parking areas for businesses along Main Street and Lexington Avenue. After-hours scheduling available.
Are your cleaning products safe for plants and pets?+
Yes. The soft wash mix breaks down within minutes of rinsing. We pre-wet landscaping and rinse everything down. Pets can stay inside while we work.
